Operator reviews

Five brands, five licences, five verdicts

These are the longer versions of the write-ups on our home page. Each review separates two things that comparison sites tend to blur: the facts recorded on the Gambling Commission's public register, and our own opinion of what those facts mean for a reader deciding where to open an account.

PokerStars Casino

Operated by Stars Interactive Limited

8.4/10 Reel Outlook score

The register entry is the most informative in this group. Stars Interactive Limited has held remote casino permission in Great Britain since November 2014, and the same account also carries betting on real events, betting on virtual events, pool betting and remote gambling software. That is a wide remit, and unusually for a licence of that breadth, the product reflects it: casino games sit alongside sportsbook and poker rather than in a separate walled garden.

What that means in practice is a lobby with a lot of doors in it. On the day we looked, live dealer tables and Megaways slots were both signposted from the front page, with Evolution and Pragmatic Play titles named on site. If you only want slots, the scale can feel like noise; if you want one account for several kinds of gambling, it is the most complete option here — and worth remembering that a single deposit limit then governs a much wider range of ways to spend.

The licensee declares three .uk addresses to the regulator, and all three are recorded as active. That is a practical point rather than a trivial one: if you ever receive a link claiming to be this brand on some other domain, the register is where you check.

The broadest licence and the clearest register trail in this comparison. Strongest on transparency; the sheer size of the offer is the thing to watch.

Spin Genie

Operated by Skill On Net Limited

7.8/10 Reel Outlook score

Skill On Net Limited has held remote casino permission since November 2014 and added remote bingo in February 2020. The dates matter here because they tell you the bingo rooms are covered by the same operating licence rather than being someone else's product in a Spin Genie wrapper — so the company you complain to is the same one either way.

The site itself is unambiguously slots-first. Jackpot and Megaways sections filled the lobby at our last visit, with Evolution, Pragmatic Play and NetEnt among the studios named on the page. Readers who like a large slot catalogue and are indifferent to sports will find less to wade through than at the site above.

Two addresses are on the register for this licensee, spingenie.com and spingenie.co.uk, both active. The mark against Spin Genie is not the product but the company: you have to go looking to find out who Skill On Net is, and a reader who never looks would leave without knowing that the same firm also runs Lucky Vegas.

Lottomart

Operated by Maple International Ventures Limited

7.3/10 Reel Outlook score

The name points at lotteries; the licence points somewhere else. Maple International Ventures Limited was granted remote casino, betting on real events and linked gambling software permissions in July 2018, and all three remain active. It is a reminder that brand names in this market are marketing decisions, not descriptions of what a company is authorised to do.

Lottomart made the best first impression of the five on safer gambling. A live casino area and a reference to deposit limits were both reachable from the opening screen, and GAMSTOP and BeGambleAware appeared on the page itself rather than only in a legal submenu. None of that is a guarantee of good conduct, but placing those routes where a new visitor can see them is a choice, and not every operator makes it.

Both lottomart.com and lottomart.co.uk are declared to the regulator, so either address can be verified. The score is held back by the narrower picture available before registration: the game range is harder to judge from outside than at the two brands above.

The clearest safer gambling signposting we saw. A wider licence than the name suggests, with less pre-registration detail about the games.

Lucky Vegas

Operated by Skill On Net Limited

6.9/10 Reel Outlook score

Lucky Vegas and Spin Genie are the same licensed company wearing two coats. Both appear under Skill On Net Limited's account on the register, sharing one licence number and one set of permissions. Anyone who signs up to both in the belief they are spreading their custom between independent firms is mistaken — and anyone who has self-excluded from one should understand that the same operator holds that record.

Taken on its own, the site is a compact slots destination with a live casino area, and Evolution and NetEnt titles were named on the page at our last look. It is tidier than its stablemate and quicker to navigate. What it does not do is explain itself: there is very little visible about the operator, the licence or the protections before you reach a registration form, which is the main reason it sits fourth rather than second.

A neat, small slots site. Judge it as the same company as Spin Genie, because that is what the register says it is.

Duelz

Operated by SuprPlay Limited

6.6/10 Reel Outlook score

SuprPlay Limited holds a single remote permission — casino, granted in September 2017 — and nothing else. Duelz is therefore the narrowest proposition on this page, with no sportsbook or bingo section to drift into. For a reader who wants one kind of gambling and no adjacent temptations, that constraint is arguably the most useful feature here.

Account controls were the other thing we noticed. Self-exclusion came up repeatedly on the homepage itself, with GAMSTOP and GamCare both referenced and a deposit limit mentioned before any registration step, and Evolution, Pragmatic Play and NetEnt were among the studios named. Set against that, the site says almost nothing about SuprPlay Limited, and with only one declared domain and one licensed activity there is less on the public record to reassure a cautious reader. That combination puts it fifth, not the product itself.

What a score of 8.4 does not mean

It does not mean an operator is recommended, approved or endorsed by anybody. It is our summary of four things we can examine from outside: how openly the licensed company is identified, how visible the player protection routes are, how broad the licence is, and how clearly the site explains its own rules. The full weighting is set out in our editorial policy.

It also says nothing about your chances. Casino games return less than they take over time, whichever brand hosts them. If you decide to open an account, set a deposit limit first, and read our safer gambling guide before you read another bonus offer.
